Participants must watch the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS video, pass the AHA written test and pass the skills evaluation with little or no prompting by the instructor.
Objectives:
Describe the steps of CPR
Describe the signs and actions for severe airway obstruction in the responsive and unresponsive victim.
Describe the links in the Chain of Survival, including the importance of activating the emergency response system.
Describe the signs of 4 common life-threatening emergencies in adults
Performing 1 – and 2 – rescuer CPR for adult, child, and infant
Using an AED for victims 1 year of age and older.
Relieving choking in the responsive and unresponsive victim of any age.
Registration is required to ensure adequate space, class materials and Instructors.

Books are kept in the Educational Department for you to review. If you write in the book or wish to buy a book the cost is $11.00 per book. The book must be returned the day of the course unless you are purchasing the book.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course dose not represents course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.
